Hq Player Remote For Mac

I recently downloaded the HQ player 3.7.1 because I was not happy with the sound of upconverted music above 192 with JRiver. HQ player sounds much better than JRiver.

Music has more texture and detail. The depth and weight of the music is better. I found that as I went up in rez above 192 with JR, bass would get weaker. HQ does not do this.

The down side of HQ is the user interface which is a little clunky. By the way, the beta version of 3.8 is available. Does any one know of a remote user interface for a tablet for HQ Player? I have an android based tablet and J Remote and Gizmo work just fine for JRiver. The media player you must have. Just drop anything to it, MPlayerX will give you a clear and smooth playback. MPlayerX is armed by FFmpeg and MPlayer, which means it could handle any media format in the world without extra plug-ins or codec packages. Apple Remote.

From what I read over on CA which is where the developer 'Miska' post a lot. 'A client for HQPlayer does not exist'. HQ Player sounds best on i7 Surface Pro 3. Up sampling DSD directly to the iFi iMicro DAC's native USB driver yields best results with CPU utilisation approx 30%. (better than JPlay intermediate layer which cannot go as high as the iFi driver.) What I have discovered is that Upsampled DSD sounds better but Upsampled PCM does not.

Hi Steve, Sorry, I pushed the wrong button and edited your post. I think I fixed it and put it back like it was.

Have you upsampled PCM to DSD? I like it but have not critically analyzed it. Hi Steve, Sorry, I pushed the wrong button and edited your post. I think I fixed it and put it back like it was. Have you upsampled PCM to DSD? I like it but have not critically analyzed it. I have been doing PCM to DSD on the fly on HQP.

I find that some music sounds great at DSD and others sound better at 384,192 and 96K. Playing around with the Modulator settings makes a difference. Again, the different Modulator settings sound better with different types of Music. I was talking to one of the guys on CA who very experienced with HQ player and he brought up the point of finding the sweet spot of you DAC, whether it be DSD or 4x, 8x upsampling. I think that this is true to some extent. Frequency rates above 96K sound much better on HQ than JR in my rig. And DSD with HQ player makes JR DSD sound midfi.

What settings are you guys using for HQP? For PCM I am using N5S for dither, Poly Sinc for filter and -3dB for max volume.

For DSD I am using Poly-Sinc for Upsampling, ADSM-7 and DSD-7 for Modulator depending upon the music, SDM set to none, SDM pipeline unchecked.

Rowmote lets you seamlessly control audio, video, and presentation applications on your Mac from your iOS device. You love the remote control which came with your Mac - so simple yet elegant, with easy control of Front Row, iTunes, Quicktime, DVD Player, Keynote, and more.

Or, your Mac didn’t come with a remote control or doesn’t even have an infrared port. Buying a remote control, from Apple or a third party, would carry a significant cost! You carry your iPhone or iPod Touch wherever you go. So why should you carry a second device just to control your computer? Furthermore, why should you need line-of-sight to do so?

Enter Rowmote! Rowmote is like your Mac’s remote control, but over the wireless network and even better! By tapping the Apps button, you get bonus abilities, switching between controlled programs, toggling the iTunes Visualizer, and more. Rowmote will even wake sleeping Macs. FEATURES - Control your Mac over a wireless network. No line of sight necessary.

Version 4.1:. Fixed layout on iPhone 6+ when Display Zoom is enabled Version 4.0:. Added iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ resolution support.

Fixed rotating to landscape orientation on the iPad in iOS 8. Fixed a few display issues in Dark Interface mode which would make the screen appear too bright. Fixed display of the active application in the Applications menu for certain apps. Aesthetic fixes in the Settings Rowmote Pro upgrade. Fixed appearance of the Function keyboard in landscape orientation in iOS 8.

A few other minor improvements. 4.0 Feb 16, 2015.

iOS 5.0+ only in this version! This is an accidental change, and the next update will restore iOS 4.x compatibility. Please do not update if you are using an older device. Added control over AirPlay mirroring and audio output (Requires Mac OS X 10.8 and Rowmote Helper 3.6.9 or later).

Improved the appearance of Dark mode on iPhone / iPod Touch models with Retina display. A few other minor aesthetic fixes on iPhone / iPod Touch models with Retina display.

Fixed compatibility with iPads running iOS 4.x. Honest david, Tentative At Best I cannot do a review on the pro version because I did not buy it at the app store rather I upgraded within this app.

Unfortunately, anyone wanting to buy the pro version probably will not see this review. I got the regular Rowmote app to work quite quickly, but decided I could use the trackpad and keyboard also. Well, that is a big mistake. In the Pro version, many times if you tap the trackpad, the color wheel appears and stays. You are stuck until you can hard restart your Mac. Also, there is a landscape only mode, but I find it to be hard to manipulate with a keyboard. I would prefer a portrait-only mode but that does not exist.

And if you check landscape-only mode, your trackpad will disappear unless your phone is in landscape position. It's a nice feature if you love landscape mode, but for the rest of us it is a hindrance. This is not a well-thought-out app and while I recommend (basic) Rowmote, I strongly dislike Rowmote Pro.

Heatandthunder, Works great on my MacBook Pro! I own a 2012 pro. And I'm using the iPhone 6 as a a remote with the MacBook. This app works great!

Saved myself 20 bucks from not buying an actual remote! Plus I always have my phone on me so now the remote app is always with me. Plus the rowmote app on the iphone and on the MacBook always stay connected to each other without interfering with anything and it does drain any extra battery from both decides. Highly recommend this app!

JMaguire1991, Requires both devices to be on wifi I got this app because I needed to control my computer (in a wifi area) from my phone (in an area that doesn't get wifi) so I could watch Netflix in bed. What the description doesn't tell you is that you need a wifi connection on both devices for this to work.

Basically I just wasted money because that defeats the purpose, if I had wifi where my phone is, I would just keep my computer by my bed. I was hoping for something that communicated with Bluetooth or IR but that is not the case. Very disappointed in this and if it were more than $1 I would be writing an email and asking for my money back.
